1. What is Erectile Dysfunction (ED)?
The inability to achieve an erection of the penis (after sufficient stimulation by you or your partner) that is capable of performing intercourse with your partner is termed as Erectile Dysfunction (ED). Erectile Dysfunction is a common problem in men after the age of 40 years but having ED in 20s or 30s is not common and should be attended by a good sexologist near you.

2. What is PRP Injection?
PRP stands for Platelet-Rich-Plasma. The plasma is extracted from your own blood by passing it through a centrifuge machine which separates plasma from the blood and concentrates them to 8x the normal count present in the blood. Concentrated plasma looks amber (chrome yellow) in colour. The plasma rich in platelets is injected into the area/tissue which needs to be repaired, regrown or regenerated.

3. How does platelet rich plasma help in Erectile Dysfunction?
The PRP injection is administered into the erectile tissue (shaft) of the penis. Then, the platelets “degranulate” and release different growth factors and cytokines. The growth factors stimulate cellular differentiation and proliferation, growth of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), heal the damaged erectile tissue and invites stem cells to the area to repair and regenerate the damaged tissue. This results in repairing of damaged tissues and growth of new healthy tissues.

4. Are there any side effects of using PRP injection for Erectile Dysfunction?
The platelets that are injected are derived from your own body; so there is no chance of any allergic reaction. You can expect a little bruising at the site of injection that should resolve on it’s own without any issues in a couple of days.

5. Can a PRP injection be used to enhance the size of penis?
Yes, PRP injection can also be used to enhance the size of the penis. In this procedure, a vacuum pump and clinical grade nitric oxide supplements are also prescribed. The vacuum pump needs to be used for 5 to 10 minutes every day, twice a day for 30 days. The vacuum pump draws more blood into the shaft of the penis enhancing the performance of injected platelets. The nitric oxide supplements help in angiogenesis in the erectile tissue of the penis.

6. Is penile enhancement with PRP injection permanent?
No. The penile enhancement achieved with PRP injection can last for a period of 1.5 to 2 years. But the process can be repeated for longer lasting results.

7. What are the benefits of PRP injection?
PRP injection is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men whose erectile tissue is damaged. PRP injection can help in enhancing the size of the penis, improving sensitivity of the penis and also enhances sexual performance. PRP best suits for people who are aged and having issues with erections or men who are not happy with the size of their penis and want to increase the size without any actual surgery or implants.
PRP injection is also used to cure Peyronie’s disease. Read more on Peyronie’s disease here.

8. How long does it take to see actual tangible results after taking PRP Injection?
Improved sensitivity of the penis may be felt in less than week. If you have taken the injection to treat erectile dysfunction, you may see the results after 4 weeks. Some people take PRP injections once every 3 months until their desired size of the penis is reached or to keep their sexual performance going great.

9. How much growth in penis size can I expect after taking one shot of PRP?
As said, it takes one month to see visible difference in size of the penis. Typically, the girth of the penis increases and will be visible compared to the length. Length may not increase much unless you work with the vacuum pump and nitric oxide supplements as advised by your doctor.
All that PRP does is, it rejuvenates and regenerates aging erectile tissue and brings it back to younger state. Consequently, better and stronger erections are produced.
